Mr. De Phillips co-founded the firm in 1981
and practices business litigation, real estate law, bankruptcy
law and commercial litigation. He is the managing shareholder
of the firm.
Mr. De Phillips has been involved in commercial litigation
and bankruptcy law since 1981. He has significant experience
in large, complex financial insolvency proceedings on behalf
of debtors in possession, creditors and other interested parties.
He is skilled in negotiating, documenting and litigating complicated
financial transactions, particularly in the real estate field.
He has broad transactional experience in real estate matters
including development, partnerships, acquisitions and disposition,
commercial lending, workouts and bankruptcy. Mr. De Phillips’
practice has emphasized the representation of sellers, purchasers,
real estate developers and institutional lenders in a wide
range of commercial and residential transactions, including
office buildings, apartments and single-family residential
developments. He has counseled numerous private developers,
lenders, investors, owners, operating businesses and construction
companies in a multitude of real estate transactions.
Mr. De Phillips is an experienced trial attorney. He has
been the lead attorney responsible for numerous contract disputes,
real estate cases, fraud actions and bankruptcy-related litigation
in arbitrations and jury and non-jury trials in federal and
state courts.
